Conservative first...

Below is an e-mail I recently sent to the GOP.

I have been a member of the Republican Party ever since I could vote.  I choose to vote republican because I am a conservative.  I have always identified myself as a conservative first, republican second.

I recently received my republican party census document.  Is the only intent of the census document to obtain a contribution?  These questions are formed to stimulate agreement on issues that the Republican Party should already be fighting for, and is therefore a complete waste of time.  "Should we do everything we can to stop democrats from weakening border security?"  REALLY?!  Is the party so unsure of the answer to this that they need to ask constituents what they should do?  Is the party so unsure of it's conservative values that they would really entertain the thought of NOT doing everything we could to stop democrats on anything?

The Republican party is slowly being left behind.  The Democrats are widening the gap on the youth vote, and are building the party from the ground up.  The republicans, are making little or no effort to garner a youth vote.  This undercuts the grassroots of the party and forces us to rely on the more established members of the party who refuse to turnover because of self interest over servant leadership.

The census is not designed to serve anyone but the party.  What is there to gain for me to take time to answer questions that are not designed to force me to think of better ways to accomplish things?  PLEASE don't waste our time with things of this nature.  If you really want to know where we stand create a poll and ask us to difficult questions.  Create focus groups to discuss the issues of the day, or ways to advance the party and win the majority back.  The answer to the special question for RNC sustaining members only.......STOP TRYING TO PLEASE THE DEMOCRATS!  Run as strong conservatives.  Be proud of who we are.  Find young conservatives that can start to bring some youth into the party.  Use the experience in the party to train them, get them prepared, and ready.  SERVE THEM! Don't ask to be served.

"Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.  For even the son of man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many"  Mark 10:43-45.

I believe every word of this.  What is happening to the GOP?  Where is the young blood, where is the servant leadership?  This party is transforming into a party of self service.  This needs to change.  We need a servant leader mentality.
